The Urgency

To speculate on what it means to move in the bones of the future, one must first ask what severs the connection to past and future ancestors to begin with?

To address ones ancestors, one must first MOVE through the processes which separate us from them. This colonial project, which displaces ancestors, destroys cultures, and necropolitically enforces the erasure of embodied lineages of knowing in the name of freedom, could be called simply: Whiteness. Or as Moten and Harney call it, “the hard materiality of the unreal.” The sociality which enforces economic and political hegemony favoring white patriarchal bodies, and produces as a main output the mythological notion of an “individual.”

Future daughter breaks through the statues of this "the unreal," as it dances amongst the affects of isolation, paranoia, sadness, and fear. This might be the reflective counterpart of fugitivity - a stuck body, caught in an endless loop of omni-anticipatory change. This is an orphan body marked by the transatlantic journey, kidnapping, and enslavement which built it’s houses. A body scarred by the  state sanctioned systematic hedging of reproductive and feminized bodies. A body marked by the continued trajectory of alienation from, and objectification of, the other than human beings which constitute THE foundation for A life. This is the body of the techno-human who’s very attention is the resource now constantly extracted in its addiction to the infinite potential of becoming (free?). This is a sick body that can never rest. A body which is consumed as the pain inflicted elsewhere boomerangs back through its own core, growing through the cracks, struck down by the echo of the violence it perpetrated, driven mad as the image it inflicted elsewhere shines back on it. Future Daughter is the oracle of the “free subject” desecrating itself, given to the future in a smoke signal, in a dance.
